Backdoors & Breaches Core Deck
The Core Deck is the foundation of Backdoors & Breaches: a 52-card set covering every Attack, Detection, Incident, and Inject card used in the standard cooperative incident response game. Use this page as a searchable glossary while playing, when designing your own tabletop exercises, or when training new blue team members on adversary tactics and defensive procedures.
Card categories
- Attack cards — Initial Compromise, Pivot & Escalate, C2 & Exfil, and Persistence. These are the four hidden categories the Incident Captain chooses from to construct a scenario.
- Detection cards — Network, Endpoint, Server / Application Logs, and Cyber Threat Intel. Defenders use these to roll dice against established procedures and uncover the attack chain.
- Incident cards — Story prompts that frame the round.
- Inject cards — Twists and complications the Incident Captain can add mid-game.
